Mission Statement |
Kayaking for Kemo Kids is a voluntary non-profit
charitable trust fund organisation and is dedicated to the bravery
of children diagnosed with cancer. We pride ourselves
on our business sponsors covering running cost and the fact
that every dollar raised by the community is donated to the
nominated organisations. There are no wages in our organisation,
just the bare running cost which allows us to make a very real
impact and difference.
Our precise focus is to raise funds and awareness for Australian
children’s cancer research and support organisations by
utilising the events significant history and recognised high
achievements. The Trust will run a series of bi-annual
fundraising events that will urge support and sponsorship from
both the community and corporate world around Australia.
To achieve this mission, Kayaking for Kemo Kids supporters will
be running many events during the 2006/07 campaign to raise
monies and awareness for the organisations that work, hands
on, with medical research and those that support children diagnosed
with cancer.
The events will be aimed at giving these people an unforgettable
experience whilst also, importantly, touching their hearts through
an awareness of just how worthwhile the causes to which they
are contributing are.
The main event – one of Australia’s most unique
challenges the Kayaking for Kemo Kids Sea Kayak/Cycle Marathon
from Sydney to Brisbane is set for March 2007. A three
week gruelling 1000km event run at the mercy of the open ocean
and challenging roadways which visits over 21 major coastal
townships and countless communities along Australian’s
busiest highway and spectacular coast line.
Kayaking for Kemo Kids will distribute monies raised to established
recognised charities. The decision of how best to utilise
the monies raised through the trust fund will be pre-organised
an approved through the committee and nominated beneficiaries.
Like Bob, our main team members are people who have been touched
by family or personal loss to cancer, relate to the cause, or
work in the medical and emergency services. They proudly
volunteer their time to assist Kayaking for Kemo Kids because
they truly care and want to make a difference. |
