Benita Collings
- Patron - Kayaking for Kemo Kids
- Kayaking for Kemo Kids Committee Member.
“I have known Bob Glenister since 1997 when he invited
me to become the Patron for Kayaking for Kemo Kids.
As one of the long standing presenters for ABV TV’s
Play School I am continually approached to support many good
causes. Upon meeting and discussing the offer with Bob
and his daughter Rebecca, I could only accept the offer and
assist Bob and his team help raise funds and awareness for
childhood cancer research and support.
In the time I have know Bob I’ve found him to be extremely
committed to everything he does, whether in his work life,
raising money or simply being a friend. Yes, I’m
the Patron of Kayaking for Kemo Kids, however, Bob treats
me as a friend, not as someone who is there to simply support
the cause.
The challenges that face the main event are gruelling, but
yield great rewards for all those touched by the fundraising
campaigns. I am delighted to continue to support Bob
and his very dedicated team of volunteers and encourage all
to assist in this wonderful cause.” |

Jim Higgins (QAS Commissioner)
- QLD Patron and KC4KK Vice Patron
“I am very proud to support Kayak & Cycle 4 Kemo
Kids as vice-patron, raising funds with this worthwhile volunteer
charitable organisation.
I am especially proud of our QAS Paramedics and staff involved
in the appeal. The QAS is proud to be supporting the main
event next March by supporting our QAS officers on the team
and the supply of a QAS Ambulance to escort the team along
the coast of NSW & QLD. This vehicle will provide essential
safety support for all involved.
What makes this appeal unique is the teamwork of our QLD and
NSW volunteer team members and supporters, raising funds and
awareness for two of this countrys' major Children's Hospitals
Oncology Units (QLD & NSW) and Camp Quality. A state of
Origin with a difference!
I was overwhelmed by the recent generosity of those who donated
to our KC4KK & QAS Ambulance Family Fund Day Expo and
encourage our Emergency Services from both States to get behind
Bob and the team as they build up to the major challenge in
March and the Gala Charity Dinner night on 26th May 2007”.
